Thank You For Bringing Ling Nam Back to Makati

Ling Nam has been around here in the Philippines for as long as I can remember. I would go to their branch in downtown T. Alonzo when I was small to eat Wonton Noodle soup, siopao or any dimsum they had available. It was the go to place we frequented whenever we were in the area.

They started expanding to places nearer to where we lived, I also have memories of us going to Shoppesville in Greenhills on Sunday mornings just to eat breakfast there. Then they went into hibernation for a few years before opening a branch here in Makati near Greenbelt. That was one of the best news I got for that week. That meant that I could have easier access to all of my congee cravings.

Then that shop closed which was a sad day for all Chinese food lovers in the area. So I had to go to Greenhills whenever I needed to scratch that congee itch. I had some moments when I would have a craving and go all the way there just to eat their congee then come back home after. So imagine my delight when I heard that they reopened a branch in Glorietta 2. Now I have regained easy access to one of the things that makes my tummy happy.

Congee is what I crave for when I look for Ling Nam. The way it’s prepared is just different from other Chinese restaurants. I like the thick consistency of the congee as opposed to others wherein it’s quite soupy and there’s barely any rice. I also like having to mix the raw egg and have it cook on its own. The unlimited crispy flakes also go very well with this.

If I come here for a full meal, I also order the crispy noodles more often than not. I just like the taste and the crispiness of the noodle and how it turns to soggy after being dipped in the sauce.

There’s also a lot of other stuff that’s good here: the beef ampalaya, siopao, their selection of Filipino breakfast foods like tocino are also pretty good.

Expect to spend around P300-400 for a full meal which is not a lot for what you’re getting in terms of food. Ling Nam is located on second floor Glorietta 2 new wing. It’s across Dairy Queen. And just to make sure you don’t get lost, it’s the shop that sells the below picture (which goes great after a big meal). Treat yourself to a meal in Ling Nam, you deserve it.
